Is faster Really Better?

What is with the increase with speeds? It was recently reported that along 183 and SH 130, the frontage roads, the limits are going up by 5 miles per hour all the way to 15 miles per hour. Do we really need to be increasing the speed? Everyone is always in such a hurry that no one can enjoy anything anymore. Just because our cars can go a high speed limit doesn't mean that we need to go that fast. Just like the I-10 went up to 80-85 miles per hour. That doesn't even give you enough time to slow down. It is not necessary to go that fast at all. Injuries in an accident start at a car going at 10 miles per hour. Just because your are going faster, it doesn't mean it is better. People die all the time in vehicle accidents. I don't need to be hit by a car going fast on a frontage road, while I have two children in my car. We shouldn't need a speed increase. Fatal accidents happen as it is with the speed limits we currently have, it can only go up or the accidents get much worse with the faster speeds. People in Texas drive horribly as it is, they swerve in and out of lanes, don't come to a complete stop, they are reckless. Even if it is just a small increase, doesn't mean the drivers are going to be safer. They will just become a more reckless. Faster is not better at all. Our world is so fast paced that we just need to slow down to prevent people from getting seriously hurt.

The Government is taking all our Ammo

Lately, there has been a scare on the shortage of ammo, and how we are going to run out soon. When you go to Academy, or GT's you see signs posted everywhere that you have a monthly restriction or weekly restriction on the amount you are allowed to purchase. That is if you are even able to purchase the ammo with how fast it sells out. You have to be at Academy first thing in the morning to be able to get the ammo. Could this ammo shortage just be a hoax, set in our minds or is the government making it seem like something scary can possibly happen that we made need it.
TexasFred recently did a post called, The Truth About Government Ammo Purchases, he writes about how since Obama had come into office, he has sold more guns and ammo then your regular salesmen. And since he has been re-elected, there has been a shortage on ammo. But the only explanation is that it has to be because of the large amount that the government is buying. He says the FBI has bought over 1million bullets, and that averages out to be about 7,187 for each agent. Now that is a lot of bullet. But, also us Americans who are running out to go buy the bullets before they run out, is also causing the shortage.
The government could just be buying a large amount of ammo, just simply because they need to stock up. It doesn't mean that the end of the world is near.
People shouldn't slow down in my opinion when it comes to stocking up on ammo. If the government is doing it, then so should we. If they are preparing for something, we might as well too. We have the right to protect us in anyway we need to. The second amendment was created for us to be able to protect us from the government. And sometimes it looks like we will need to be able to do that. I disagree with TexasFred in the aspect that we should be in a little panic because of how fast ammo is selling. But we are Texas, we can handle our own, us as a state is so large, that could also be a reason we are running so low. Us Texans, we love our guns!!!!
